If you are not sure which product is best for you and your clients, the most important factor to consider is the paper.
The AriaBook - traditional photo paper
AriaBooks contain photographic paper (Fuji DPII) in a lay-flat form. This paper is well known within the printing industry to give fantastic results with a durable, fingerprint resistant finish. This is a fantastic paper choice and most of our photographers offer the AriaBook as their “standard” album choice.
The ArtBook - archival inkjet
For clients who are looking for a more luxurious finish, we recommend the Artbook range which is also a lay-flat product.
The Artbook is made from a range of matte finish papers and will appeal to those clients who appreciate the beauty of fine art printing whilst understanding that this kind of print requires a bit of extra care.
Matte paper can be more easily damaged if not handled properly. However, it is important to note that in our company’s history, we have never had a complaint about the quality or durability of this paper as our photographers do an excellent job educating their clients on the positives and negatives of this kind of printing process.
One of the most amazing features of matte fine art paper is its absolute matte surface which reflects zero light. This allows you to focus on the main star – the photography. The slight texture of the paper is a delight to touch.
The Heirloom Book - press printed
Heirloom books are printed on a four color digital press (CMYK) where loose pages are stitched. This product is the only non layflat book we make.
Heirloom are designed to have lots of one-image-per-page pages. There is no option of designing images across two facing pages as some portion of it will be lost in the middle.
We suggest using this product for light photography. Due to the nature of digital press technology, which is inferior to inkjet used in ArtBook and darkroom process in AriaBooks, dark and moody images will seem darker.

Which one should you offer?
As all options are beautiful and built to last - most of our photographers offer both products at varying price levels so that their client can have the final say on what works best for their tastes and lifestyle.
